Job description

We currently have an immediate requirement for an Electrical Design Engineer with a background in control panels and MCC’s to join our Automation, Control & Design team based at our Head Office in Falmouth.

You will be part of a collaborative team of proactive and dedicated engineers who support each other in a wide and varied range of engineering and technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Contract Site Surveys.
  •  Equipment Selection and Purchasing.
  • Design of Control Panel Schematic Diagrams and General Arrangements from User Requirement Specifications and Control Philosophies.
  • Production of documentation packages for our workshop operatives.
  • Assistance with the production of operation and maintenance manuals.

 

Ideally, the candidate will have worked as an Electrical Controls Design Engineer preferably with experience in the Water industry, though not essential. You will have a good understanding of BSEN 61439 LV Directive and be able to work collaboratively as part of a fully integrated team. Experience in Autocad or EPLAN electrical design software would be advantageous. Client-facing with excellent interpersonal skills. Hard-working and self-motivated. Either relevant engineering qualification or by experience.

Job description

As a mechanical design engineer you will have the opportunity to work on all stages of a project life cycle from early research, development and design, all the way through to installation and final commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site and office based mechanical project engineering. Participate in project specification development in collaboration with various other engineering disciplines.
  • Site and office based mechanical systems design, development, testing and evaluation of the theoretical design and end product;
  • Contribute and work with others on CAD and 3D engineering design packages (experienced in Solid-works design package preferable).
  • Direct and coordinate various construction manufacturing, maintenance, installation, documentation, support and testing activities to ensure the acceptance with terms, codes, and customer requirements
  • Understanding of client supplied design specifications and technical drawings.
  • Production of design specifications.
  • Site surveys and office based liaison with clients, contractors and suppliers.
  • Part specification and procurement.
  • To observe the Health & Safety at Work Act, and Tecker Ltd’s Health, Safety & Environmental polices.
  • Comply with all current legislation, regulations, guidelines and ACoP’s.

Job description

M&E bias Project Engineer to be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines that projects involve. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing project specifications with colleagues, including mechanical, electrical and ICA engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure job specifications are met and are in keeping with customer requirements.
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
  • Implementing cost-effective solutions or equipment modifications to meet the client’s output specifications.
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor project team.
  • Co-ordinate and liaise with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house functions, site installations and construction teams.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with the Project Manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions where required.
  • Use experience to effectively lead and motivate project team members to deliver quality results.
  • Delegation and management of workload to meet key dates.
  • Attend meetings with customers, suppliers and other departments to review project requirements as and when required.
  • Assist in the Preparation of project documentation including CDM Pre Construction Information and Construction Phase H&S Plans, RAMS etc.
  • Procurement of plant, materials and specialist subcontractors.
  • Prepare estimates and quotations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng. or NVQ equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience of working within the water and / or sewage industries

Job Description:

We are looking for a team player; someone who is willing to learn, share knowledge, support others and help us with our contract and commercial workload.

This is a full-time hybrid role where you will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as cost control, contract administration (NEC preferred), cost management, cost planning, and cost reporting. The role is primarily located in Falmouth but offers flexibility for some remote working.

You will work closely with the engineering team offering support and guidance on all commercial and contractual matters.
