Electrical Pathway - Qualification
Electrical Pathway – Qualification
- Installation Electrician Apprenticeship Level 2 / 3
Job Description: Support operational teams to deliver Mechanical & Electrical schemes, predominately in the water and waste water industry.
Main duties: to carry out work activities efficiently and safely in accordance with documented safe systems of work, current legislation, regulations, guidelines, ACoP’s and Company Procedures under the supervision of competent person(s).
Responsibilities:
Responsible to the Training Manager: to attend all college sessions and complete all associated work in a timely manner
Responsible to the relevant supervising Electrician/Engineer: to carry out all workshop and site based practical work activities safely under the supervision of a competent person.
Responsibilities include but not limited to assisting electricians under supervision:
- Site and workshop based
- electrical installation
- electrical panel manufacture, installation and maintenance
- instrumentation installation and maintenance
- fabrication and electrical fitting
- electrical diagnostics, testing
- installation and maintenance of cabling, conduit and any other equipment needed for the efficient and safe use of electricity
- use of a variety of hand and power tools necessary for the work
- Comply with all Company policies, procedures, safe systems of work and instructions, current legislation, regulations, guidelines and ACoP’s
- Conduct all operations with due regard to health, safety and the environment
- Maintain and complete engineering portfolio, vocational and practical requirements of apprenticeship
- Any and all other reasonable duties that may arise in the course of the work
College units include:
- Health and safety
- Environmental technology systems
- Overseeing the work environment
- Project planning
- Preparing and installing electrical systems
- Terminating and connecting conductors, cables and flexible cords
- Inspecting, certification and testing

- Standards Apprenticeship – Engineering Operations Level 2
- Standards Apprenticeship – Engineering Technician (Fitter) Level 3 or
- Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

- use of a variety of hand and power tools necessary for the work.
- Comply with all Company policies, procedures, safe systems of work and instructions, current legislation, regulations, guidelines and ACoP’s
- Conduct all operations with due regard to health, safety and the environment
- Maintain and complete engineering portfolio, vocational and practical requirements of apprenticeship
